movie mayhem

A friend who lives on the 200 block of Columbia called me this morning to ask whom to call about inconsiderate asshole movie crews. Actually, the word he used was "right fuckers."

The neighbors did receive warning, including notice that they needed to move their cars by 8am. So my friend had a guy banging on his door *yelling* at him about his car at 5:40am. That's the way to start a great day!

It's also garbage day, and the garbage truck came by in a hurry, throwing all the recycling, yard waste, and trash together, so that it will all end up in the landfill.

Then the movie crew heaved the bins into yards to get them out of the way, crushing plants and in some cases throwing them against the sides of houses.

Overall, my friend reports that they are being completely inconsiderate in every possible way, and that when he tried to talk to them, they told him that he was should be grateful they were there.

His question is, whom does he contact to complain? I suggested emailing our city council rep and phoning the mayor's office. Any other suggestions?

Interesting that we should be grateful when they are the ones that had all filming fees and associated business costs waived by our fair city council. I wonder what we are getting out of all of this besides having our quite little neighborhood disturbed.

I've never heard of anything like this. Was it a non-union shoot?

1. Place iPod speakers near front window.

2. Play Heavy Metal on iPod.

3. Wait for knock on door.

4. Enjoy.

I prefer signs in the front yard that might disrupt their wide angle shots of your lovely neighborhood.

Definitely give Paula a call and voice your unhappiness.....oh and call Atchley, not because he is your area Council Member but just because he deserves some grief.

Yow, if someone is banging on your door at 5:40AM, demanding that you move your legally-parked car, maybe it's time to call the cops? I'd try the non-emergency number first...

Last night some huge spotlight on a crane was shinning into our house all the way from Columbia.
This was at 8:30 pm.

I have no idea who posted that comment but i live on the 100th block and they were nothing but kind and courteous to us and our neighbors. They're make-up and wardrobe trailers were parked right on the side of my home on Bradford and we all had a blast meeting the cast and production crew and my mom even got a part as an extra! I'm sure they spent a lot of money here in local stores and shops so in my opinion it rocked!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing Pomona on film!

Hopefully, we'll see additional filming or other revenue-generating opportunities come Pomona's way, but regardless, it will be cool to see the city on the big (probably little) screen.

I would have kicked his ass had he gone to my house and did that.
