Fairplex
Dogs from all over North America are competing at the Mission Circuit Dog Show. And if you're into dog but want less show and more action, stop by the So Cal Portuguese Water Dog Club Agility Trials.

City of Pomona

Tuesday: Regular City Council Meeting and a Special Meeting starting at 5PM. The meeting didn't make it to their city calendar, but if you follow 8 (maybe you can do it faster) links, eventually you'll find the following two agenda items.

Wednesday: Planning Commission @ 7PM in Council Chambers (agenda)(map)

Metro Pomona

On Saturday, Family Fun Days is scheduled at Cal Poly Downtown Center from 1-4PM. Children who attend will receive a free book.

Also on Saturday, Radio Rodia by Peter Yates is scheduled for the Cal Poly Downtown Center at 7PM. It's a solo puppet opera emphasizing creative impulse, compost, building codes and reincarnation. In following the city's link for more information, I stumbed on the Cal Poly Pomona Music Department's website. If you have few minutes check out their events page.

Galleries:
I'll make a pitch for visiting dA Center for the Arts to see Emerging Artists from Pomona Unified School District. The exhibition runs through Sat. May 31, so you can also check it out during the Second Street Art Walk on May 31.

We are just a tad tired of receiving those political flyers in the mail endorsing Norma Torres. Hank and I have decided to give our support to Ken White, voteforkenwhite.com. If anyone would like a sign or door knocker for the said candidate, we'd be happy to drop the information off for you. You can contact us by email-kvroute66@hotmail.com. We have met Ken and think that he has a great deal to offer as a representative of this area. Please check out his website.

Is there a Norma Torres running for a position in the next election? I received three flyers in three days.

Norma Torres is running for State Assembly, with absolutely no qualifications. She must have a lot of money for all of those campaign ads. Wonder where it comes from?

Just wondering if anyone knows what qualifications Norma Torres has for running for office? I have read that she is from a small village in Guatamala-one of the most backward and corrupt countries in Latin America.

If you live in that country corruption is a way of life and you have to go along to get along. As a result when you come to this country you tend to back candidates like Xavier Alvarez, who it turns out, is a liar who claims to be Medal of Honor recipient. Moreover, he claims he has a constitutional right to lie. Give me a break!

What qualifications does Norma Torres have to be a state legislator? Does she have a degree or any experience in the making of laws? She claims to have been a 911 dispatcher. Was this a paid position or volunteer position?

I don't feel that Ms. Torres has any business in Sacramento as a lawmaker.
