oddness abounds

I'll post about the NO ON 8 rally later today, after I get my pictures downloaded (I left the cable at work -- doh!).

But in the meantime, I'm sitting here at my desk at 8:15 on a sunday morning, and who should walk by but an elderly man in a gray track suit, carrying a coiled bullwhip. No, he wasn't wearing a fedora, and Marion Ravenwood was nowhere to be seen.

If that was you, dear reader, do tell us the backstory. And if it wasn't you, feel free to offer up some wild theories!

Maybe he carries the bullwhip with him while he jogs in order to keep the stray dogs at bay. I got some video of the protest on saturday up on my page. look forward to the pics.

This is the first time I've been so near wild fires. So, pardon me if this is a really naive question: How do we know if we are in harms-way?

I can't comment about being in the path of the fire, but if you have air quality concerns, the AQMD has daily forecasts and hourly readings if you're curious (www.aqmd.gov).
